Place your phone on your nightstand before bed and tap “Start Sleep Session.” NEEND uses your phone’s microphone to listen for snoring and breathing irregularities in short intermittent bursts throughout the night. This keeps battery usage low while capturing the audio that matters.
Yes. All audio is analyzed on your device and deleted immediately after processing. No audio is ever uploaded to any server. Only derived scores and event data are stored locally. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Your NEEND Score is a 0-100 rating of your night’s breathing quality. It’s calculated from detected breathing events, their severity, and duration. Green (70-100) means good, yellow (40-69) means room for improvement, red (0-39) means you should focus on your sleep health.
NEEND uses an intermittent recording strategy, sampling your breathing in short 3-second bursts every 12 seconds. Most users see 15-25% battery usage over a full night session. We recommend plugging in your phone before starting a session.
No. NEEND is a wellness app for tracking sleep patterns. It is not FDA-cleared and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. If you suspect you have a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
Go to your session history, tap the share icon, and select “Export PDF Report.” This generates a report with your session history, NEEND Scores, AHI trends, and breathing pattern data that you can share with your healthcare provider.
All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the NEEND app removes all stored data including session records, audio clips, and preferences. You can also delete individual sessions from within the app.
